It looks okay mike...but where's the glue? Have I taught you nothing?!?!?!?

Panels don't match up man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif what happened?
i assume you are talking about the top panel sitting on the bottom ones?. yea, the front panel is slightly higher then the rest of the panels, but it worked out good since i weather stripped the side/back panels so it is totally sealed up. once he decides he is happy with the tuning and wants it carpeted, that will be changed and it will sit fine.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

looks very good. way better then what i have seen from some so called builders.lol.
good. job. how does it sound?
hah thanks

it sounds way better then what he has. wayyy more output, impretty sure his mirror will fall of lol but the only drawback is that his hatch rattles likea kids toy. so sound deadening will be added at some point...along with new subs:yumyum:

you seem like a good builder, i'd hire you if I didnt have the balls to do it myself

I do have a question however, how do u figure if u like the tuning or not? Me myself i just want my sub for bass that pounds, I just bought a Kicker L5 and I'm trying to get the most out of it I can without breaking it or having it die out on me from too much bass

so how would I know how to tune it correctly? i was thinking 33 Hz would be good if u could help me in anyway it would be greatly appreciated.

PM ME ALSO I PROB WONT RE READ THIS THREAD

its really dependant of what the customer wants. for example, if they just want really loud bass then a tuning around 35 will be fine. however if they prefer deep low bass, 30 hz is probably more what they would want. i just finished an enclosure a few weeks ago and had tuned it in the 35 hz range. however after giving the customer a chance to listen to it he decided it didnt play low enough, so i increased the port length and lowerd the tuning to 30hz.

so i guess you have to ask yourself...do you just want low bass, or really loud hard hitting bass. there really isnt anythign i can tell you other then that. maybe some other builders on here can share their insight on the subject..but as far as i am concerned its all preference. as long as you have it tuned low enough, 35hz, not 50+hz(for playing music atleast) or anything i dont think you can really do any physical damage to the driver unless you send to much power to it or have it in an enclosure far too big.im not too experienced in the subject but that is just the way i see it. may want to ask some more experienced members if you still have questions. hope that helps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you realy have to calculate the enclosure parameters according to that particular sub.

for example one sub in a 2.0cuft box tuned to 35Hz may peak at +3db between 35Hz and 40Hz and have a very sharp down slope to an f3 of 27Hz to 30Hz, while the same sub in a 3.5cuft enclosure tune to 35Hz may still peak between 35Hz and 40Hz, or at a wider band, but it will do it at a higher db level, which may give you more bass between those peak frequency then the smaller enclosure, but may also reach the mechanical excursion of the sub at a lower power rating and a higher frequency then the smaller enclosure.

so the tuning freq is not the only important factor, the tuning has to be calculated in conjunction with the enclosure volume, to find the proper enclosure for that particular sub. there is more to it then that but you get the idea about tuning and enclosure volume.
