Its nothing fancy but this is the 2nd ported box I've made. The 1st I made yesterday for a friend as practice, this one I took my time on.

Its 2.5 cubes after sub displacement tuned to 32hz with 46.5sq" of port area. The port width is 2.5". I tried using no screws but I only had one clamp and I said the hell with it and use the least amount of screws as possible. The box is nice and strong.

I think it turned out pretty good. I sanded it all down after all the screw holes were filled. I will be primerring and rino lining the box once the sub comes. The sub thats going in it will be a 12" Fi Q dual 1 ohm powered by a MMATS D300HC.

Not bad at all for a 2nd time build.
I hope you got a router, because a nice cutout would compliment that box nicely. That and you could have rounded the edges and made it look real slick.

Looks good so far.
I do not have a router but thats why I stopped where I'm at. I'll be getting one to finish the box off soon.

Does anyone see any problem with the sub/port firing up? I originally built the box for firing towards the rear but there is maybe an inch and a half of space between the box and the rear tailgate and I didn't think that would be enough.

Now all I have to do is figure out what I'm going to do for an amp rack in the rear for my two amps.

also does anyone know where I can order a good quality terminal cup that will accept like 8 gauge wire? I don't usually use terminal cups but I want this box to look really clean.

If anyone has any ideas for an amp rack let me know!

in that size box there would be no way to get the port area needed with a basic L shaped port. Its kind of funny that a couple members with 1000+ posts say it looks good and two members with less than 15 posts are talking about "port noise out the ***". Rounding the corners is not going to make a huge difference. The front of the port will be rounded. The wood costs

I think what I'm going to do with the amps is move the box in the middle. Cut a peice of MDF for the top of the box that extends to cover over the whole cargo area and fits flush with the side panels of the cargo area. Then I will build two platforms off each side of the box to mount the amps to and then put another peice of MDF over the front of the box that faces that tailgate so that the amps are flush with it. That way all the wiring will be out of sight and I will also have plenty of room to mount another battery in the space also. Might go ahead and put the crossovers back there too.
