My bookshelf project

Why is there a notch/gap inbetween?
Im guessing thats for another board?
they are two separate ones //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

just the way he set it up for the photo

Ports are in place. I decided to go with 45hz instead of 40. This allowed me to make them not quite as deep as they would have needed to be. Flaring the PVC on the router was quite scary as well since there was barely any of the PVC sitting on the router base lol.

thx //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well I cant really go any further. I need a 1/4" straight router bit but I have no clue where mine went. The ports are permanently attached now. Tomorrow I may get a new bit so I can get a little more done on them.

Looks great bro, congrats. Just got a few questions....how do you flare the pvc for the port? Why not just use a slot port? Cant wait to hear how these perform, looking for ideas for my own bookshelfs.

I did the flaring with a router and a 1/2" roundover but the cutting edge was sunk down only around 1/4" The pipe was barely on the router base so it was a little rough so i hit it up with some 60 grit paper and that knocked down any lumps quickly. Then 150 smoothed it out nicely.

heres closer shot of the port flare since it seems to be a small topic of its own right now and you can see its now permanently attached to the box.

I havent flared the back yet because i am not sure how I am going to finish these. It will however get the full 1/2" roundover //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
