My bookshelf project

If anyone has the woofer and or tweeter i was wondering if you could do some measuring for me. I need the depth of the tweeters mounting flange and the overall diameter of the hi vi d6.8 mid/woofer. I want to get the cutouts for the speakers done but until I have those measurements I am stuck.

is the 158mm the diameter of the center of the screw holes and the 174mm the overall speaker diameter? its a 6" mid so if its 6.75" across id assume theyd call it a 6.5???

Lemans used to or still has this speaker so im waiting on him to clarify the cutout sizes.

i believe the .8 is the designating the nominal impedance
looks like 136 for cut-out and 158mm for the over-all basket diameter
yeah i know that is for the impendence. I dont know what that 174mm measurement is though. If it turns out that the speaker is 174mm diameter then itd be ~6.75 overall, if its 158, then its ~6.25 overall.

just a little tip, when you make the crossover, PLEASE dont just start soldering everything together. get some breadboards, and put the components of the crossover through the back, and then wire it all up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

i just hate seeing ugly components //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

oh yea, let me know how they sound, i might make some of these soon... dont forget to add the box plans and whatnot

box plan:

Top & Bottom: 9.5" x 8"

Front & Back: 9.5" x 14"

Sides: 14" x 9.5"

2" PVC 7.25" long The PVC's OD that I have is 2.375".

After the drivers and crossovers go in, it should end up somewhere around 0.5 cubic feet tuned to 44hz.

dont worry req, i was planning on laying it all out before i soldered anything. I too hate ugly parts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

cutout is 5 3/8"

Here are the last pictures until I get in the speakers. I need the depth of the tweeter before I can do any more cutting. I ended up buying a few bits at harbor freight and they cut suprisingly well. I dont know how long they will last but whatever, they got the job done.

3/8" roundover behind mid/woofs

Flush cutouts for the speakers, 6 7/8" OD - 7/32" Deep, 5 3/8" ID

At first I wanted to center the mid on the front and have the port under it and the tweeter on top. There simply wasnt enough room to do so. I did not want the speakers and port staggered so I opted for the port firing out the back. I think they will look alot better this way.
