My boat doesn't have an alternator...

I have thought about solar, not sure how much power that can give you.. Anyway, links would be appreciated.
no proof, or evidence. lol i was just thinking of other ideas where you could get power from. you would probably need a giant solar panel, and would only be able to run a HU and satelites

Not much...you'd have to cover most of the boat in panels and it would only be worth a **** on a sunny day. Would probably just be easier to add an alt to the engine...

I have used a solar/battery rig on a sailboat. It worked fine. It just provides a trickle charge. You can charge the battery (or more than one battery) while your boat is tied up, or on the trailer. Then, while your out on the water you just run it down, and the solar panel helps to provide a trickle charge while your out and while it's stored.

It provided enough power for radios, autopilot and few extra's.
