Thx Defcon. Well let me say before anything else that I botched the carpet job on both since I don't know what I'm doing in that area. I got some more carpet on order from
partsexpress, so I'll patch that up later. I'm more of a functionality over looks type person anyhow. Plus I don't show it off really, I just put it in for me to enjoy back and forth to work. Didn't know people wanted pics here. Doh! So plz forgive me!
Pic1: Passenger view of old sub box converted to a midbass 50-160hz box. 2 Infinity Reference 10's, one in the back, one underneath firing downward. Didn't get a pic of that bottom one, perhaps later.
Pic2: Rear view of midbass speaker. Again, you can't see the bottom woofer. I threw a Walmart tray on top there for $30. It's hooked up to an Audiobahn A8000T, 800rms@2ohms. I have it turned down about halfway, don't need all the power for just midbass. I have plenty now!
Pic3: The Ava 18 box in the back. The box actually turned out pretty nice, but my carpet job....well you know. At least I have some trunk space to play with.
Pic4: Up close shot. 18" grill courtesy of
PartsExpress.
Pic5&6: An old sealed box w/ 2 10" Mtx woofers. My kid punched a hole in one of em. I guess he didn't like Mtx, lol. Just put that up there as a reference for the Ava's size.
Pic7: Lanzar Opti1400 amp under a seat. Says 1300x1rms, I have it turned up about 60% of the way, plenty enough for me.
Well, feel free to ask questions if you want. The only pic I can think of people might want is the down firing woofer on the mid box. The 6 1/2's fit right in where the factory speakers went, and the 3rd amp powering those is under another seat. Nothing special. I got the idea for the small sub box from another site - he supplied the dimensions etc and I built it. Also, there's a farad cap installed and the HU is a Pioneer 8600mp.
By the way, these pics came from an Aiptek 3100. For $99, it's a camcorder and 3mp digital camera. Aside from the beautiful carpet job, did the pix turn out ok or can I do better for under say $200? And Defcon, what did you use to clean up the pics? They actually look worse under my picture program and on the camera itself. Thanks.
