My Audiobahn Tech E-mail

So you basically asked what output to expect at 8ohms bridged and the guy replied they dont have a rating at 8ohms bridged (and many car audio amplifiers dont which is reason enough not to give you a figure) but the amp would be stable.

Okay so whats the problem here, sure it was a bit short and simple but he answered the question to the best of his ability. Should he have benched one at 8ohms bridged just for you?

Same with the other guy who asked if his amp would run at a 1ohm load. Shit I would have responded with simply No, at least they gave you a full sentence.

(maybe I should put in an application, I'll have all my speakers sitting on chrome in no time)

perhaps you should ask them something more complex so we can get a legitimate good laugh out of that fine blinged out and large ceramic magnet endorsing establishment.

I asked because it could be either 1/2 of the 4 ohm bridged value, or it could be 2X the single channel 4 ohm rating. I"m leaning more to 1/2 the 4 ohm bridged, but I'd like to know for sure.

I'll bet you that if I called up some other companies they'd be able to tell me what their amps do at more than just the published loads.

Please don't patronize me, I'm not a retard.

I'd also like to add that this Abahn A6601t was the first amp I'd ever bought, and I'm only using it because it fits decently with what I need it to do ATM.

I'll be getting newer, higher quality amps when I'm sitting better financialy in a couple-few months.

It's rated at 75WRMSX6@4ohms, and 210WRMSX3@4ohms(bridged)

Feel free, while I still have alot to learn, I'm quite confident that I'm not a complete tard...

I promise not to make a girly "I'm leaving" thread...

Yes, i think whatever is neccescary to come up with the answer should be done.

That is the point of product support. Why waste time sendng an email if all youre going to get back is a line from a guy thats too lazy to actually give you a correct answer. I think its BS. Keep the emails goin. I doubt they will send you anything anytime soon. Go for it

x2; "Should they have benched it for me?"

Absofeckinglutely. This is how it should go:

Abahn email guy: :dials extention:

Abahn tech n00b: "Please leave a message after the bling. Bling!"

Abahn email guy: "eh teh abahn 69104, bridge 8 ohm benchz0r"

Abahn tech n00b: "teh 45w peak"

Abahn email guy: "abahn teh bling 95WRMS @ bridgez0r."

CA guy: "pffft."

I'm funny.

Keep bugging them that answer was rediculous... i can answer the question for you however. It is dependant on what channels you bridge at. Channels 1 to 4 are pretty much the same and put out about what the book says so if you were to do the 8 ohms bridged across two channels you should be pushing ~100w to the speakers. However channels 5 and 6 were better suited for small subwoofers or high powered rear mids. These channels put out slightly more power.. i did this test a while back while my 6601 was in an uninstalled waiting period. I found that that when bridged to ~2ohms they put out around 350w undistorted rather than the rated 210w... so you would probably be able to put around ~150 - ~180 watts at 8 ohms bridged to 4 ohms. I might be slightly off on the numbers as that was a few years ago but i think that's about right.

Funny story worked for a wholesale electronics company and all we sold was Satellite receivers we would buy the receivers for 5 bucks from china and sell them for a few hundred here.

customers would tell us how shitty our product was after buying 5000 units or more..

we couldnt care less we would just laugh our arses off that the idiot bought our product.

i bet thats what they are doing to you right now.

The reason we do not rate them at anything higher than 4ohms is that almostall CAR audio systems run at 4ohms or less. Since we do not rate them at a

higher load we do not test them at one. We have also discontinued the ACX

line of speakers due to problems with the design. I apologize for the

inconvenience you have suffered due to those problems.

Sincerely,

Technical Department

I'm calling starting tomorrow...

dude if you want to know what it does at 8ohms get your happy *** a DVOM and a AC Ammeter and test it

it's not like your gonna see anywhere near frickin 8ohms during play anyhow
