My amp is dead - I need some help!

My crappy Power Acoustik Amp died that was powering my two Power Acoustik Mofo 122x subs and now I'm looking for a replacement. I have a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport, and I plan on doing the Big 3 before I buy an amp.

I'm on a budget, so I'm only really looking to spend around $200 to $300 right now if I can help it. Those subwoofers can't be 1500 RMS like they say on all of the websites they're listed on, so I'm thinking that I don't need a HUGE amp to power them. Any recommendations as to what I should buy? I know I could do well to replace my alternator / starter battery / add a battery in the rear, but I'm trying to just start back up again. I was thinking about a Hifonics Brutus BRZ2100.1D, but I think that's a lot of power to pull from stock, even with a Big 3 upgrade. HELP!

I've been taking a look in that section. For those subs (I have to stick with them for now), what RMS rating would you suggest I look for in an amp? Do you think that upgrading just the Big 3 right now would be enough to handle a new bigger amp?

I got amps FS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Classifieds is indeed ur friend tho. U can buy a big amp, as long as u have the gain low then it won't pull that many amps from ur alt

That HD 3500 looks really nice. Do you think with stock alternator and just the Big 3 Upgrade I'd be okay for a little while? It's my daily driver and I dont want to kill my alternator

I told you already, it's all about how you set your gain. If you set it conservatively then the amp won't put out its full power and therefore pulling less amperage. Theoretically you can put a 10kw amp in your car and it won't dim anything if you don't turn the gain up.

It is going to be hard finding amp that makes decent power at 2ohm since you're running two of those subs
