my amp hums....?

Is it bad if your amp hums? Its playing music but really lightly and its humming behind the music?

Is your power wire away from your RCA's? Does it only do it at certain RPM's or all the time? Mine does it but i fried my low-pass crossover so your's may be a different reason.
