My amp gets real hot.. is this normal?

Some amps just naturally get hot, like my Tantrum for instance. Its designed to be a heatsink on the outside so its always warm or hot...

if u are running your subs lower then what the amp can handle, wouldnt that run it hot in no time....

depends on how stable the amp is under 1ohm. some amps can handle it and barely get warm or mildly hot. i.e. IA 20.1 (especially down to .07). barely gets warm.

Ya know it was interesting the other day........when it was like 100 deg. here.... I got in my car after it sitting for a few hours..... my amp read that it was 135 degrees!!!. And I could DEFINITELY notice an output drop.... was kind of interesting.
