my 200 amp alternator gets hot fast?

My 200 amp stinger alternator gets hot very fast,to make a long story short I had problems with my alternator and sent it to stinger and the problem was I had a sre bearing fail so they fixed it so they sent it back and I installed in my car.

I went to drive it and I drove it for about two miles I checked the alternator and it was hot as hell I do know what the heck is going on. Can somebody give advice what the problem my be thanks.

Nobody has any answers, I recharged my batteries and still getting hot. Help Help!!!!

Isn't it bolted to your engine?

Umm...I'm not no expert but shouldn't it be hot. I mean engines only run at 200 degrees.

it supposed to get hot but not so hot where you cannot even touch it,yes it is bolted to the engine.I drive it for just say for five miles and **** it is freakin hot.

i say bushings, or reg.

I was just joking with the first post, but what is your voltage reading ?

My alt gets hot...pretty hot. No problems. Alternators get hot

go to pep boys and get one of those temperature guns and find out how hot it gets...
