My 200 amp stinger alternator gets hot very fast,to make a long story short I had problems with my alternator and sent it to stinger and the problem was I had a sre bearing fail so they fixed it so they sent it back and I installed in my car.

I went to drive it and I drove it for about two miles I checked the alternator and it was hot as hell I do know what the heck is going on. Can somebody give advice what the problem my be thanks.

Umm...I'm not no expert but shouldn't it be hot. I mean engines only run at 200 degrees.
the alt should not get hot in 2 miles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Edit: from a "cold" engine.

it supposed to get hot but not so hot where you cannot even touch it,yes it is bolted to the engine.I drive it for just say for five miles and **** it is freakin hot.

Thanks to those that are trying to help I apperciate the input. Anymore suggestions will help.

I was just joking with the first post, but what is your voltage reading ?

thanks for the inputs but some are saying that my rectifier might be the problem.
