Yeah I was meaning to ask you that on the phone. What all does your electrical consist of?

2 1/0 kicker runs of +, and a run of - from the front battery. Also grounded to the chassis in the rear. I have a deka g34 up front and 2 g31's in the rear. I think the big 3 will help me out and I should be good tho. I have some 1/0 welding wire for that. 4 guage to all the amps too off the rear batteries

...but dang it's goin to take me a while to clean up the mess of wires....all fits behind the rear seat in a trailblazer with an amp/battery rack...not a 1/16" to spare

sounds good man...should be callin ya tomorrow

Dmm's are trash when setting up amps. There worst than guessing IMO.
oscope is the only way to go when trying to figure if its clipping or not period.

And those coils can't take 2k for long. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Im not saying, that they can't take it, for short listening terms, but when they start smelling and he keeps playing=blown coil. PERIOD!
Are you kidding me...... oscope yes 100x better, but as far as a DMM not being better then your ear...

Thats horrible advice for a person that cant tell the differnce between audible clipping....IMHO..... Look at what happend in this scenario by "going by ear"

and your a 110% wrong about them not taking 2K well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I never said going by ear was the way to go either, you can't ready. I said using a DMM is similar to going by ear. Both end in still clipping at the end of the day, if not properly setup correctly.

Ok, if you say they'll take 2000rms, why did his sub blow?

The coils on these subs are not big by no means. Nor does it have a great cooling feature.

Gimme 2000rms after rise clean signal and 5 minutes, and I'll show you a burnt coil.

Now, can one put 2000rms to this sub and it be ok, Yes. Your missing that point in my post.

But they have to know when to turn the volume knob down when the subs are getting hot.

So stop with the bullshit posts.

You should of used your nose instead of your ears. When it started smelling, let em cool off.

Hearing a soft clip is like hearing the difference in 1 tenth of a decibel. Yes, you can hear the difference in a hard full clipped signal.

Mine take 3k each on rock music for 30 minutes at a time as that's all my ears can take //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Rap songs with a lot of lows would be too much though, but 5-10 blasts are fine. Never gotten stinky once...
