My 15" XXX SEALED BOX review

because the install is still setup the way I had it for my 4 12's...still have a battery and fuse blocks in my trunk in my wheel well. I DO NOT have a trunk floor at the moment, so I cant put a box back there yet....
TREVOR87...I went from ported to sealed because.........check out the thread "my 15"xxx review"

Ok i gotcha now;)

first things first: fire the sub into the seat back about 2" away from it.....put some blocks of wood on the side to keep the sub from touching the seat back. Retest. You have to load something like that to get performance out of it. You'll notice a difference, also........ make sure that it's not centered in the back seat, push it to one side as far as you can get it. Let us know your findings then..should only take a few minutes to test and get back. ...........What the hell are you waiting for...'Cho *** in motion boy!

I had my Inhuman in my backseat for a couple days before it went in the trunk, and although the SQ was a lot better because the rear deck wasnt rattling like a *****, the output was much less.
this is coming from the same guy that couldn't get the inhuman loud though

XXX's do not play high bass, that's all there is to it. They are bottom feeders, putting out tons of info in the lowest actaves, but you wont be hearing any 80-120hz burps from a XXX. Im running one of my XXX's sealed in the backseat (extended cab), no it plays virtually nothing above 60-80hz, yes it plays very very low, and yes low-end extension will always be better with sealed systems versus ported.

If you don't have some serious midbass in your front stage to blend a XXX, you should be looking at other subs. But, if you want a low-end monster that never misses the beat, and you have some serious midbass already, the XXX is for you. But if your front stage consists of a 5-1/4 or lame 6.5" comp set, a XXX isn't going to blend worth a crap.

XXX are serious subs that require a fairly serious system to accompany them.

edit: Oh and the noise you are hearing is likely tinsel slap. I can hear it from my XXX (directly behind me) in certain passages in certain songs, when its hitting pretty hard (and Im only running 500w to it).

That's an.... interesting theory. Can you explain why you feel a XXX needs to be front loaded before it will perform well? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

Well I cant fire it towards my back seat because I have no back seat in my car....but I did push it to the side.

I just want this thing to wang like my buddy's w7 was....this is "supposedly" the winner over it right.....even though that thing hit so much tighter than this does...

Hemisphere reduction. If you don't know it, I suggest you read up on it if you plan on making suggestions for subwoofer applications.
lmao whatever man. First off, I know the advantages and disadvantages of front loading a speaker. Secondly, I also know there is no speaker on the planet that requires it to perform well, suggesting so is absurd. Lastly, Im quite confident I have more experience in this field than you, so you can climb off the high horse right now.

Have a nice day.

you show your ignorance.
never

ever

say always
Ignorance? Really now? What vented system will have better low-end extension than a sealed one? A ported system tuned to 1hz? How many of those have you ever seen Mr Ignorance? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif Sealed systems do not 'unload' below tuning (as there is no tuning), so yes, in any realistic sense sealed systems will always have better low-end extension than will ported systems. That's pretty much a universally accepted fact, sorry.

When you pushed it to the side, did you fire it toward the door or forward? If you have not fired it toward the door, try it and leave it about 2" from the top of the surround to the door. Give us your review then.

I guess I'm entitled to an immature come-back as well....... "whatever man".

Now to not waste anymore time giving explanations to someone that uses "whatever man" as a form of argument with no possible way of backing up any "more experience" claims that he may spew forth.....

Your firing your sub against the door will give the information needed for YOU to make the decision of how loading the subwoofer affects the turnout of YOUR review. I highly suggest that you load it firing into the door and re-review the subwoofers punchiness attributes. To explain: by cutting off hemispheres, you effectively raise the output every one you cut off under ideal circumstances. You have 5 hemispheres open when you have your sub sitting on your rear seat...in the center. You have 4 when you move the sub against a side of the vehicle, the closer the sub itself is to that side, the more effective the cancellation of that hemisphere. When you fire the sub at the door about 2" away from it in a sealed application, you have cut off one side and the bottom and the front...that leaves two hemispheres left....aside from hemisphere this and hemisphere that.... by loading it into a panel that is essentially the same single unit that the seat is attached to, you will then get more impact through the seat unless at first you had the seat backed right up to the sub. Note that you still had 3 of those 5 hemispheres still there and open even if you did have it against your seat. Your review of that door loading will tell the truth.
