Music on storage devices Vs CD's

Here's where you lost me. If the bit rate of a WAV file and track on a CD is the same, and a specific head unit has full WAV support, there's no difference. If you are noticing a difference in quality, maybe you should get a different CD ripper. And CDs' bit rates aren't much higher than v0 MP3s.
That's what I initially thought to. But the manual says its max bit rate is 320kb/s WAV files have higher bit rates than that. I notice it in the high range significantly. Although ripping my CD's with a different ripper (other than windows media player) or to a different format may help too...

I haven't listened to much other than the four studio albums. I can listen to all of them all of the way through without any issues. Tool's just so good, man. I haven't been able to find anything else that I like as much.
Five studio albums and one live disc that came with the DVD.

Salival is good.

Have you read through the lyrics to Rosetta Stoned before? Crazy cool.

The specification you're looking at is referring to MP3s because most MP3 encoders can only go to 320. There should also be a limit on WMA at 384 or something like that.

Opiate's an EP so I didn't count it. Haven't listened to Salival; I usually don't like live albums, but I should give it a listen.

Yeah, Rosetta Stoned is awesome.

My vinyl ripped FLACs approaching 3000kbps > your WAVs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
The sound from records on a good player is something special... Especially vs music on CD's or any digital format...

96kHz 16bit is ok, but bit depth is hugely important for dynamic range.

We only record 24bit, with either 48k or 96k sampling rates. 24/96 is 4,608kbps. Storage size is crazy.

When archiving vinyl, I record 24/96, then maximize volume before down sampling to Red Book for normal playback.

I was interested in the answer to this as well, and having read the thread I have to add Eulogy is my favorite song, but all cd's can be listened to front to back. Aenema was one of the first CDs I ever bought
