where are some good web sites that are inexpensive and periodically bill you for music downloads.

Like unlimited downloading for $5 a month or something.

they need to be reliable so they get all the new music and unsigned artists etc.

i use newshosting but it only have 70 days retention. i think some other newsgroup have like 120+ retention. giganews?

actually newgroups are the next big target for the RIAA...... they'll be in deep trouble by the middle of next year.... limewire probable has about 1 more year left before they get shut down by the morons at the RIAA and the MPAA......

spiralfrog.com just came online about a month ago and it's all free..... it only has universal's music library (700k + songs) but should have others come onboard later.... the only catch is you can only play it on the comp you downloaded on and the mp3 player you can hook up to it.... you can't burn it to cd but ahem there are ways around this ahem......

newgroups have been around since the beginning of the internet in the 70's and almost every internet provider have their own server. i dont think the RIAA could do much.

well they are taking them to court by the end of this year..... there've been multiple stories out this week regarding this.... i'll post one up when i find it .....

newsgroups have sort of slipped under the wire so to speak.... the RIAA is feeling very strong right now after winning their first real court case and they are being real dick holes about it so here they come.....

whether or not they are successful doesn't seem to matter to them anymore..... they've been too successful in litigating against people and they aren't stopping anytime soon..... frankly i think Hollywood should fall into an abyss during an earthquake and all the shitty actors get real jobs for a living just to put some realism back into their lives....
