multiple batteries vs. high output alternators

It's not going to happen, so the lowest grounding resistance should be found. Anything over .2ohm, IMO, is too high.
Anything you can directly measure is too high. If it is showing more than what you see when you touch the two leads of the meter together it is way too high. 0.2 ohms would equate to a 2V drop with only 10A flowing. That's a really bad ground.

I didn't realize I didn't type a couple of 0's in there, I meant .002ohm.

Good catch.

I don't know how realistic no measurable resistance is, but lower is definitely better.
