Multiple amp wiring...

Say I have a sub that has dual 1 ohm voice coils and I want to connect 3 amps, is wiring the coils in series to make a 2 ohm load and then connecting all 3 amps in mono to it the correct way to use 3 amps on it with a 2 ohm load for each?

Paralleling 3 amps into the same load would likely bring smoke & flames.

The load each one sees would depend on a bunch of electronics yada-yada that's too complicated to give here.

think of it this way.

try wiring together two seperate home stereos to just one speaker, then run when you turn it on

the correct way would be to have 3 dual 1 or dual 4 ohm subs.

Ok, lets just put it like this, I've heard of people hooking 4-5 amps up to a single, dual-voice coil sub, how do you wire more than one amp per voice coil???
