Multichannel amp bridging

Hey guys. I am looking into getting a 4 channel amp to run my fronts and my sub. If it were say 125watts RMS on each channel, how much would come from 2 bridged channels? Would it be 250 or something different altogether? Trying to figure out what size sub I would need to get. Thanks in advance.

rule of thumb -- if the amp is bridgable, it will allow for 2x power into a single loudspeaker of 2x impedance.

for instance, 2 channels, 125W @ 2ohm would allow 250W for a bridged channel @ 4ohm.
