hey guys
i'm actually thinking about doing 3 across, with a 4th directly above the center monitor.
i use multi monitors for things like, say, typing a paper on the main monitor, while having a draft, or my sources open on the other, or simply surfing the web in full screen, while keeping my im, or outlook open at a glance, and having, say, a movie or tv open on another screen
that, and my little brother let me install his copy of adobe premiere, which kicks ***, so it can only help for crazy shit like that.
and as for games, they don't need multi-monitor support. I'm using a single ati rage 4-screen video card to control all 4 monitors, so it can emulate a single display and internally feed it to 4 monitors, as well as having all sorts of tweaks for multi-monitor stuff.
and i AM buying all the monitors seperately. those pics are from the manufacturer of the stand i'm gonna get, and of course they're gonna demo the stand WITH monitors on it........
for those who've never tried, you'd actually be suprised at how many of your day-to-day computer tasks get done soooooo much faster and easier with multi-monitors. think about something as simple as copying and pasting without ever having to switch windows, or hit alt-tab, or moving files and folders around, or managing huge lists of mp3's and organizing your hard drive, or making cd's, etc. EVERYTHING is faster, period.
