Multi-channel w/large sub output

I'd like about 500 watts RMS to the sub. I am considering the idea of either a 4- or 5-channel run 3-way. I've been looking for a Soundstream MC500 from the eighties, but they are rather hard to come by.

Thoughts on some monsters to get 'r dun?

Memphis Belle, eh? Where can I find one? EBay is goose eggs right now. Also, what are the 3-way specs on it, it's dimensions, and what are SQ opinions on it with respect to running components, in particular? Thanks for any thoughts.

Okay, I just got some of my questions answered with a Google search:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/viewitem.php?id=4033&affiliate=froogle

But what about 3-way mode? Safe to assume that this can be bridged to run 2 x 150 watts RMS at 4 ohms, and then 600 watts to the sub at 2 ohms?

Sound quality to the comps? Thoughts? Thanks, all....
that amp pwns all 5 ch amps!

and is the only one I have ever seen with over 1000watts(@1ohm) to the sub

be prepared to spend, cause Sonixelectronics is unautherized(no warrenty)

and I would "NEVER" buy a 5 ch amp with no warrenty, too many things can break

Are the old skool belles supposed to be better made?

I know someone local who has a 2003 model in very good condition - he wants 450, sound reasonable?

The Memphis Belle is one of the best 5-channel amps out there. The older ones are the same quality as the new ones. I have never heard of someone having a Memphis amp breaking and they have a 3-year warranty if you buy one from an authorized dealer.

Is the amp for $450 the big Memphis Belle or the baby Belle? Because there's a big difference, the bigger Belle is twice as big as the baby Belle and has a lot more output. Aesthetically I think the older amps were better because they looked better but you have to think about that fact that an older amp has probably been used more by now than a newer one, but it could last another 5 years or for as long as you own it so it's just a risk you have to be willing to take. I think I would give him $400 or $350 for the used Belle if it's the bigger one. I'm also not sure if the old ones are 1-ohm stable or not.

old school belles are 6 channel amps I believe..........

while the new ones are 5ch

I wish they made a 3 channel Belle, who the hell amps rear fill anyways

my ultimate amp would be 150x2 on the fronts/comps and 750-1000w@1ohm on the sub

that would make me verry happy

I emailed Memphis and gave them my reccomendation LOL

im amping my rear fills.....am i not "supposed" to?
I dont use any rear speakers in any of my cars, but IF i did I certainly wouldent amp the rear fill UNLESS i drove a huge suburban and even then I would have to experiment and see if it messed up my front stage which is what RAF does sometimes
