Much difference?

I have little, to no experience with ANY of this, so be patient with me. Respect my lack of knowledge and help me out!

I have a cheap Insignia cd player that was bought and put in my car by a friend because my factory wouldn't play burned cds. So my question, does the quality of your head unit affect the way it sounds?

I'm currently running 2 12" kicker comps and a zx400.1 amp, although my zx1000.1 should be here tomorrow.

Yes, but I doubt you'll notice a difference

yes. I went from a pioneer deh1900mp to an eclipse 8445 and the difference in clarity was incredibly easy to hear.

So I guess I'm wondering if it'll be worth me putting in something a little better quality.

Been trying debate on my next step with this, better HU or replace factory speakers.

what kind of car do you have...that will help dictate gettin' new speakers....a lot of newer cars have great factory speakers in 'em...my sisters mazda 3 sounds much better factory than the 200 dollars worht of speaers i bought...but the acoustics are a lot differet too...
