mtx1501d or orion1200D

i would like to. but my close friend is selling me the orion dirt cheap only because well.. im his close friend. i wouldn't feel right profiting off of him...
Who said anything about profiting? I'll buy it from you for the same price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I doubt that MTX will do 1800 watts at 2ohm. 1800 at 1ohm is more than probable, but at 2 ohm is highly unlikely. The mods done to an MTX to make it accept higher voltages and lower impedances don't affect power output if you're still running >=2ohm and ~14v.

for 175.............buy that without thinking, if you dont use it then you can sell it right back for that price...if not a little bit more......

if you were paying 300-350bucks on an orion i'd say keep the mt, but the price is right on this man, both are great amps which i have owned. the orion is definitly a quality amp. i think for a single IDmax the orion would sound better, though they'll sound close to the same......

Cool.. thanks for the informative feedbacc.. so u think the orion would sound better?? hmm.. maybe i should run the orion in 1 ohm for the single idMAX and whenever i get a second one, switch out the orion with the MTX? the only thing is im scared to take the idMAX out the ported box to rewire the impedance load.. im afraid when i put the sub bacc in it wont be as airtight as it was before.. haha am i just being paranoid about that part?

a little parinoid, but thats god, that means you just need to take your time, have a diagram next to you to reassure yourself, and very carefulyl take the sub out, get it done, and screw the sub back in, and NOT miss with the drill into the unfortunite rubber surround....

if it doesnt fit back in find where it rubs the box and sand it down a litlle at a time time it fits. definitly if you upgrade to 2 idmax's, go with the MTX. i've seen them with burn marks on the edges of the circuit board from overheating and it still plays liek a champ.
