MTX vs Rockford Fosgate

i have heard everyone say that the upper level subs from both these brands are good, well i dont have quite the money to go for that, so i want some opinions on the lower levels. Im looking at RFs Punch series 2, and MTX's Thunder 5500 subs. The MTX's are 300 watts RMS, and the P2s are 200 watts RMS, but i know P2s can handle 300 RMS easily. The ebay price is within a buck or 2 between them, it makes no difference to me, so i want to know which sub would be better. Instead of just one brand or the other, if you have heard both these subs before, i would apriciate it if you could compare them in several categories tell me the dif in them. So the things i want compared are:

SPL, SQ, Loudness, Durability, Hitting the LOW notes, Hitting the MIDDLE notes

i had 2 12" MTX 5500's. i had mine in a sealed 1.75 ft^3 per sub box with a dirrected 1100d amp and gains about half, they were surpisingly loud for a lower model sub in a sealed box, they took about 500 watts daily. i'd say they have potental if you put them in a ported box. they had an impressive higher end, but did not take low low's very well, i would recomend them to you if you're looking for a good, cheap sub.

i have installed 2 15" rockfords dont remember what model they were, rated 200 rms, and recived 200 rms. in a shitty sealed box.

they sounded like crap, and wernt very loud, but loud enough if your in it just for the music.

anyways,

i prefer mtx over rockford,

I would totally recomend gettin' the Rockford Fosgates.... Amazing subs. Probably some of the best built subs I've ever played with. I played around with the T2112D4 though so thats a little out of the range of there budget subs. Everyone doesn't give them enough credit though. They have great products!

I personally like the 5500's but my friend has a couple of P2 15's and they are real loud, they don't sound very good but they are pretty loud. With my past experiences with the P1's they definately couldn't handle a lot of power, if it where me I would probably get the 5500's but the decision is up to you.

any new rockford sub is realy lackin in quality both sound and build. i would strongly recomend MTX high end subs the 7500-9500

in my opinion RF subs are better than the MTX's...
but RF vs MTX ampwise... hard choice

man there is soo much to chose from MTX. and MTXs build quality if better then Rockford. rockford vs mtx 5 years ago i would say RF hands down. but latley seem like RF is goin more for looks then anything. and MTX amps are some of the best out there.

You can wire those subs up @8 ohms if they are both SVC4 ohm subs, and that amp will run fine after being tuned properly...
