I am thinking about gettin either a mtx or a pg amp 200x 2 which one has the best reputation

depends on teh exact model's you compare. if it's an OLD pg amp then the PG for sure. if it's a nwerer one (within the last 4 years) id go with mtx out of the 2 IMO

The Xenon 200.2, you won't be dissappointed. Birthsheets shed more to about 220 RMS a channel and always produce better efficiency and less THD every certificate I've seen.

PG Xenon series for sure...not sure about the new RS line(or whatever its called) but Xenon is supposed to be top notch stuff...i own a 200.4 and a 100.4. do not go with PG octane its not all that great. i would compare the PG octane to the MTX stuff

Lol, 1.) better rep. 2.) he included an 'x' and '200.2', and I always refer to the series as an X200.4, X100.4, etc...if that's what you were asking for haha.

I have a X600.1 and love the thing. So clean sounding, and pounds the sub (also Xenon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif) hard.

I read that as "200 watts times two channels", not a model number.

PG made numerous amps with that kind of power output.

I've only heard good things about the Phoenix Gold Xenon series.

However, never really heard anything good about MTX amplifiers.

I ran some of the older Thunder amps. Never had any issues with them.

the pg amp is a R4.0.2

The mtx is a Thunder 3202

i don't have any experience with the octane series, but no one seems to like them so that r4.0.2 is out. the old school thunder amps like the 3202 are pretty **** decent imo and about 25% underrated at 12.5v. pretty solid in my experience too.

i have about a 125 dollar limit and i can get the pg for 90 or the mtx for 99
