MTX Audio have big ones

sry but i didn't see any of those 5 times could you give me a readers digest?
Well from a quick search here are some of the quotes;

That comparison is totally meaningless. It really proves nothing. That 10% difference in Xmax (in this case, 2.5mm) is literally inaudible.

Power handling doesn't really matter to overall performance, having 250w greater thermal capacity doesn't make it any better from a performance standpoint. (that's excluding the fact that W7's can handle a bit over their rated RMS power handling aswell)

"Smallest useable" enclosure size //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I could use a .1cuft enclosure if I really wanted.....hence it's "useable". Extremely ambiguous, and doesn't really make the 9500 any "better" than the W7 even if it were true. And 1cuft for the W7 is still a pretty darn small box....not like you'd need a truck to tote it around.

The rest of it is just general sub-to-sub design difference

I don't really give a darn if you have more Xmax than I do if mine's more linear with less inductance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

It also just compares the 10W7 and the 10" 9500.

I did the math, and the 12 and 13w7's spank the 12" and 15" 9500s, respectively. You don't see em publishing that, though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The shortening ring is about the only thing worth noting. I would much rather listen to a w7 over a 9500 any day. I really dislike the sound of the 9500s, 8500s, 7500s, and basically every MTX driver I have listened to and owned.

Would be interesting to see how thick that shorting ring actually is and see if it actually has any effect at low frequencies.
