i have hurd this up against a 13" JLw7 and this mtx smoked it. the JL actaly cought fire and the mtx was still going with more power then the JL and the mtx hit 5 times harder. dont get me rong the JLw7 is a bad *** sub but overall the mtx is the best"

I wouldn't say that. Now, they may not be that great from their MSRP prices. Most won't(or wouldn't) be paying that price though.

I think the 9500 series is a bad-@$$ woofer. I would run one if they weren't so expensive.

Just another mainstream brand that's more worried about marketing than good products. Look at the jackhammer - quite possibly the most inefficient sub ever. They do have their good products though, like most brands.

That was my point exactly. I guess I didn't clarify enough. Companies like that disappoint me - I understand marketing is important but that's a bit outrageous.

I've seen 9500s in a 4th on globs of power. It was beastly. One of the top mainstream woofers you can buy.

I've had two 9500 12's in the past and they are bad. My one would keep up with 2 w7 12's a friend had.

And I never pushed it past 1200 watts.
