Mtx 9500 or jl w7

I'm not saying you guys are wrong but can you elaborate on why the MTX motor is "weak" or no good? This is just the first time I have read that anywhere.
Have you ever heard them? They are loopy a golden pile of steamy crap. That's just my opinion I wouldn't pay more than a couple. Hundred dollars for one if that

Speakin of crap that's my phone lately ugh typo out the arse

I didnt say anything.abt the motor ..its ok it the weak *** 2 layer coil and bullshit.soft parts
Well this is true, you didn't actually specify the motor itself. Reading comprehension > me lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ok but I asked what made the motor so bad? Your post gives me the impression that because a sub sounds bad, it must have a bad motor (not saying this impression is accurate, but that is what I take from your post). There are a lot more variables than just the motor that affect the sound of a sub. And to make matters even more complicated, the term "bad" is pretty subjective.

Everything.but the motor on these hinders its potential greatly

I didnt say anything.abt the motor ..its ok it the weak *** 2 layer coil and bullshit.soft parts and the reason i didnt suggest doin a proper ported box for the L7 is that it would be like 5 cubes and even then its still a L7..so if he gets a x12 in the right box it will outdo the kicker by leaps and boumds in every category possible

Everything what? Are you talking about the grade of magnet they used, the type of steel they used, the gap width, no copper sleeve on the pole, the "B" value of the motor, cooling, etc. What specific item(s) in the motor make it a bad motor? And what do you mean by bad? What may be bad for a daily driver may not be mad for a one note SPL driver and vice versa. Or are you only unsatisfied with the coil they use and the motor itself is fine?

All I'm trying to say is that people make very general statements around here and some people that are newer to the car audio world may get the wrong impression if details aren't provided.

Not to mention I like to learn everything I can when it comes to car audio so if you have some specific details on why it may not be suitable for most people, then please let us know why so that we understand why it may be bad instead of just knowing that it's bad if that makes any sense.

The motor in amd of.it self is fine ....im talking coil former surround cone they took a great motor with good potential and threw crappy softparts on it ....im nota fan of them daily.or spl thy heat up very fast and fail ..2 layer coil i believe....if they had solid softparts it would still be in production and probably one of.the highest selling woofers...theres a reason it was discontinued ywars back ..now.if.u can find a motor for a decent price u can build a very nice sub from it

If you want SPL i go with the 9500 it can handle long time playing as W7 cant handle that much, but the thig here is JL audio have way better SQ, about the 1000w rms thats to much for any of those, they are 750w rms each if you want a 1000w rms sub in the same model you can pick up a 12" 9500 thats 1000w rms and 4" voice coil, in my personal opinion i would take the 9500 i have had many 9500 and non of them had fail adn JL's always fail in long time playing, what i like about the 9500 is that it have 3.5" coils and sound pretty loud if you make the right sub box

Two post in and you already look like an idiot. Jl sub dont have a problem with random failure they have a problem with bad users.

and the 13w7 has a 3.5inch coil the 12w7 has a 3inch coil.

and while the 9500 has a 4inch coil its built like a t2 to use little power while having alot of coil in the gap.

upgrade the crap 4 inch coils and soft parts and you have a sub that can take 2k daily

Well if you know how to read you will see that i wastalking about MTX 9500 coils the 10" have a 3.5" not 4", the 12 and 15" are the ones that have a 4" coils, and about the fail on JL audio yeah it could be because of user doesnt know how to treat them, but if you do the same thing to an 9500 doesnt happend that, i wasnt saying that jl audio is not good or anything like that i just told jl's you have to treat them like princess, and mtx you can treat them as a man thats it.

If I clip a mtx 9500 like I clip the jl w7 it will blow the same, if I play too far below tuning it will blow the same weve ran w7 subs on 1500w without any failure thats double rms cant say the 9500 will take 2k continuously for very long.

and you didnt specify 9510 just 9500

Well the guy who post this ad he says he want a 10" mtx 9500 or 10" jl w7 so he know what im talking about, but well im just giving my opinion on what i had try not on what the specs says. I had install JL audio's for long time and the people just blow them all probaly as you say yes is because they dont know how to use them, but when ever i had install mtx 9500 non of them had blow them. But well to be honest im not here to argue whit anyone i just gave my personal opinion to this guy and thats it.

I had a mtx 9500, well about 6..and i loved them, i had one on a mtx 1501D and it could take more, also mtx has brought the 9500 back for a limited time, its on the site as of now, but i think only in a 15 in version
