Mtx 9500 or jl w7

Hey guys, I'm gonna be ordering either a 10 inch 9500 or 10 inch w7 today. I have a 15 inch kicker l7 right now and I want to replace it with one of these. i want to know a couple of things before I buy. Which sub is better? are these subs gonna be louder or hit harder than the kicker? can I put 1000 watts through these and it still be safe?

Well im pretty sure they dont make the 9500 anymore and the w7 is way overpriced ...what is ur goal? what amp and car is this going in?

You can still buy the 9500 online and its about the same price as the w7 on onlinecarstereo. I'm looking for something that is punchy and beats the crap out my truck. I've heard the mtx has more spl but can still have good sound quality. I'm looking for spl so I think I might go with the 9500. I have a kicker dx 1000 watt amp. I'm pretty sure the mtx would be able to take 1000 watts at 2 ohms. The mtx is a 4 ohm DVC sub. Also I'm driving a 2005 ford f-150 super crew.

Every place ive seen the 9500 has been discontinued for years ...its really a weak 4" coil by todays standards..and the w7 is a solid sub but like is said way overpriced ..alot can be had for less money ...how much is the w7? and 1000 watts lots of entry level non mainstream companies have woofers that handle that easy

Also a custom built box is gona make whatever sub u have cone to life ..dont buy a prefab whatever u do

Yea sundown makes some great subs...and how.much is the w7 ? just curious as ur budget? theres lots of good "underground " comapnies

U cant fit a 12 ?? are you set on A 10 ?? the sundown x line can be had for 300-350 i beleive and is rated at 1250 rms ..its a beast

Zv3 is closer to 500 i believe but may be cheaper now that the zv4 is out

the 10 is 329 and the 12 is 349 ..the zv3 12 is 459 ...i think the x would be plenty for you on that power ...and theres guys on here who design custom boxes on here i use @Buck; great guy ****** desins ..will help u get the most out of ur system

Anytime ..just alot of people jist dont know anything about these things all they see is kicker alpine jl and such ..u will be happy and with the 150. bucks u save on the sub u can build a badazz custom box for it
