MTX 9500 not hitting hard !

Here's the formula you'll need ...Sqrt(Power*Resistance) = Voltage

(i.e. If you bridge a 4 ohm subwoofer to your amplifier that is rated to produce 100 RMS @ 4 ohms in bridged mode, you would want Sqrt(4*100) = 20 volts)
thats from jmacs tutorial thread (top of the amp section)

so if we go Sqrt (1000*4) it should be 63.25v i believe (as long as the little java calculator works that im using

Dude if your saying the sub isnt even half way to xmax it cant be the box. Especially that its a sealed box it should have even greater excursion than a ported box. My 15" HC is in a 2 cubic foot sealed box and its sometimes too much for me and the gain is only 1/4 up. I dont think you are having box problems. Just make sure its sealed very very well. I think people sometimes under estimate sealed boxes. I mean, think about it. Even if the sub was playing 3 db less than its full potential at 1000 true watts, that is still some serious power.

thats exactly what i think.

i read somewhere that sealed handles more power and it haves greater excursion.

let me bench my amp and i'll post here my impressions.

=)
