mtx 9500 in sledgehammer box

was just wondering if the boxes are any good, can get a good deal on a mtx 9510 sledgehammer.

and if they are good would they hit/be louder than 2 12" kappa perfects

Trust me. If you get the 9500 sledgehammer(s) and power to RMS with a burly ass amp. 2 if not 3 or 4 Kappas could be mobbed over by 2 9500 10's for sure. The Kappa Perfect 12" VQ handles 400 watts RMS. Try 800 watts RMS for a thunder9500 10"!!! Straight up 1000watts for the 12's. There is no Infinity within reach of the 7500 series even. And there is no chance a Kappa 12" could take the wattage to one 10" MTX and not fall apart like a little, broken, sub, crap, thing...... Huh. Anyways, yeah MTX's are real sick. Real sick!!

Dude STFU. You do not compare subs by their RMS. That, and Perfect's would pwnt the 9500 in SQ.

I've heard that the 9500 series actually has fairly decent SQ.

As far as the question on hand, it is POSSIBLE for the 9500 to beat out the two perfects, but it is not likely just becasue of cone area differences when comparing a single 10 to two 12's.

Build a large ported box and fully power the MTX, and you'll have a chance if the perfects are sealed. Otherwise I wouldn't bet on it. Either way prefab is probably not the way to go on boxes.
