MTX 81000d with 4 gauge wire

I went to this installer around my house to have my 81000d and orion 8004 installed. They advised me to go with 0/1 gauge from the battery to the trunk then use the StreetWires distro block with the power and ground inputs on it. The inputs accept 0/1 gauge but the outputs are 4 gauge. Do any of you think that the 4 gauge output will have an effect on the power output of the 81000d? I called MTX and they said that if i go that route I should only use 1 - 2 ft of 4 gauge max. They also could not guarantee loss of power output due to the smaller wire. If anyone has done this before or can advise me on the probably outcome, it would be helpful. Sorry about the big paragraph, but I wanted to explaine in as much detail as possible.
