MTX 81000d Modded output

as far as i know these amps are the same board as the 1501d's which ive used extensivly. if you're only burping .5ohm you're okay, otherwise they'll fry after about 6-7min of hard playing. if that 148 was on a termlab meter and a legal score then im impressed. wouldnt be suprised is its not a tl. the mtx were great and very reliable at 2 ohm, but could only take 1 ohm playing for about 30-40 min before frying. 1ohm they would burp all day long. the ONLY thing the modding does is make it so that it wont shut off if you send it 16v. otherwise all its the same

IMO the new RF amps are solid as hell and a worthy investment.

Okey, THANKS! I thought I would gain something with modding it @ 12V.

I had it in a trunk of a BMW compact, 52Hz, DD 9518 @ about 0.5ohm before rise

I compared it to the old RF 1500.1bd and bd did a impressed 150 in the same box!

So I'll stick with old school bd now

thanks

I've had my 1501D playing daily at 1ohm for almost 6 months now and it hasn't given me any issues. But yea, modding it basically just removes the protection so you can use it however you please.
I used mine also @ 1ohm all day long, never got hot!
great amps
were you guys' amps modded, or not? i'm curious as to what my 1501d can do at 14-16v but i dont think it's modded.

i thought modding made it able to play at 1ohm w/o going into protect, not for upping the volts.

Not puttin the amp down or anthing, but i can't belive you ran it all day @ 1 an it didn't even get hot.

After about 3 or 4 hours on a 75ish degree day @ 2 ohms mine would shut down and be hot enough to fry an egg. Less time then that if it was hotter outside.

you had a defective amp, or something was wrong. i live in the south and i run mine for hours at 80+ degrees in my trunk and no problems. @ 2ohms

I run mine all day without modding perfect 10!

@skateboardkid

I'm limited with MAX 2100Watts in this class. RATED WATTS

So I need a very underrated amp that will do 2000 on paper.

What about crossfire VR2000d? Can I burp it at .8-.9ohms with a pair of NSB90 batteries

Pick up an IA 20.1...

Can you run at .5 ohm?

you think IA on .5ohm is a lot stronger then RF 1501db - which I also used.

any db difference in those two, any comparation?

How low can I max burp the IA20.1?

The RF was tryed at .5 rolling volume
