Hi..

I have a MTX 801D mono amp and my sub is solobaric 12" L7 dual 4 ohm.

I wired the sub into 2 ohm. and on the amp, there are speaker 1 and speaker 2 with + and - sign. and it's mono on the centre of the bottom between the + sign of speaker 2 and - sign of speaker 1.

here is the manual

http://www.mtxaudio.com/caraudio/products/amplifiers/Thunder_421D_801D_1501D.pdf#search='mtx%20801d%20manual'

I brought my car to a shop and they put it under the + and - of speaker 1. is it right?

should i change it to the mono at the centre which is the + sign of speaker 2 and - sign of speaker 1??

Class D MTX amps have 2 sets of terminals, this is just for easy hookup for multiple subwoofers. Just hook it up to a positive and a negative. They "bridge" together inside the amp anyway.

from the above post..

somebody said if only wire to one of the speaker, I am only using half of the power. Is it right?

or the amp will bridge the power itself?

please help me out..
The amp is mono. The 2 sets of terminals you see are hooked together inside the amp. Just hook your 2 ohm speaker wire to any positive and any negative. You will have full power output.

Hey...the guy who is putting in my system has said that the MTX class d amps can be run down at 1 ohm....however, i have also read that they are not stable at this level and cannot be run under 2 ohms.....so, does anyone know if the MTX 801d can be run at 1 ohm..thanks

You can wire those subs up @8 ohms if they are both SVC4 ohm subs, and that amp will run fine after being tuned properly...
