can somebody explain this one for me... i hooked up my old rockford fosgate bass knob from my 10001db (year 2003?) to my mtx 1501d and it made it even louder?? i set the gain to full on the amp and then when i plugged the rockford knob the subs bumped even louder... any idea? thanks!

adding the bass knob boosts your sound by a couple db's . my 1000d does the same thing when the bass knob is used..

my manual says" using the ebc port will add a additional 3db of gain when used, and infinite attenuation"

so can i hook up any 'generic' remote to my mtx amp... i sold my rockford so i dont have the remote anymore! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

you're gain should never be full tilt, ever.

the knob for the RF is just tuned to have the gain a little higher when its at its starting position.

you're probably clipping the hell out of you subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif get ready to buy new subs

hmm i know why they werent burning out before... i had two dvc 4 ohm L7s wired up to the amp to produce a 4 ohm load.. so they were only getting about 375~ watts each thats at 100% efficiency.. 1500w @2ohm 750w @4ohm

lol @ post #2

why are you lol at my post ? this is what it says for the manual for the amp he has....it is the same amp as a 1000d ,81000d, and a 1501d.....

as long as the bass knob has a phone jack type plug , it should work exactly the same..

i have another remote bass knob that isnt a mtx , and it works the same as the original....(i have the original one to) ..

he asked why it was louder...i gave him his answer.....i missed the gain part being turned all the way up...lol

you said plugging it in gives you 3db. i lol'd
its true though..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif i think it was a way to get people to be like ooo i need 3db's more....but it probably just turned the gain up on the amp without you knowing it....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

impossible with my setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

and it's not necessarily louder at 1 ohm

You can wire those subs up @8 ohms if they are both SVC4 ohm subs, and that amp will run fine after being tuned properly...
