im going ot the next compition with 1 thing in my mind and that is to beat a W7 with a PA FUBR from bestbuy:)

im really looking into geating rid of my PA A3000DB's for MTX 1501's but theres just 1 problem. the MTX 1501 is rated at 2ohms.

now the FUBR's are dual2.....so if i wire them down i will be at a 1ohm load.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

do u think the MTX 1501 can handel a 1ohm load?

Remove the compression circuit.....

To do what, destroy the amp entirely? lol

You TURN the compression circuitry OFF

And that is not considered modifying. The only thing the compression circuit does is to dynamically reduce the RCA input voltage to reduce clipping.

To modify your amp you remove a specific chip from the board itself. This mod ONLY keeps the amp out of protection when you feed the amp more than 15.5 volts.

Your amps CAN be run at 1ohm for burps unmodified...however be aware if it cooks you loose your warrenty if MTX finds out.

BTW - yes I have owned mtx 81000d/1501d's and yes I modified them and ran them at 0.7dcr daily - but I have more common sense than most.

Don't forget.....when you throw a sub in a box the impedence will change, as it will with frequency and temperature, etc etc (yota, I know you are already aware of this). So even if it was wired to .7 or 1.5, it doesn't mean that the amp ever saw a load that small for more than a few milliseconds.

No I Used To Sell Those Amps You Will Burn It Up 4 Ohm Only

How much do you want to bet?

I'll put 10,000 usd on it right now, the pink slip to my truck, AND my 4 zapco 9.0s.

4ohm testing to be done on a DD 9915 dvc 1.5 ohm. So dcr will be 3.0 ohms to the 81000d. 9915 in a sealed 2 cf box. If the amp doesnt smoke up after 1 hour of banging, you owe me a LOT of money.

I'll have a lawyer draw up the contract, and can have it notarized after we both sign it.

I dont bet $$ unless I KNOW I will win...get with the facts bub - particularly if you supposedly sell them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif (btw - what is your business license number? lol)

Hell Ill do that bet running the amp ant 1.5ohm dcr....

Waiting on you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

x2...lol...i think its time for him to put up or STFU

i have also been around numerous 1501/81000D's, they'll take 1 ohm if you keep the voltage up. hell, i've seen a modded pair take .5 strapped, but i wouldn't recommend it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
