Do anyone know if this is a good idea. Because I hear with some subs its not recomended to have them firing upwords something about the drag of the magnet or something.

you'll just have to try it and see if you like it. that's the best way to find out which way to fire a sub.

It all depends on the vehicle, I had mine facing up towards my big hatchback window and it sounded good. Just try it out in all kinds of positions and decide which one sounds best or is loudest.
