MT or XXX?

You are thinking of getting a single 12" MT or a single 12" 06 XXX... They are two different price ranges, you might as well get two of the MT's, or hell a single 18 MT (which would still be less than the XXX)...

I would also sell those amplifiers and get something worth keeping.

good point, those xxx's are hella exspensive, way too exspensive...

Is the box for the 2 12" mt's gonna fit though? the box for my 2 xxx barely fit.

How much bigger are the boxes? would i have to get 2 more amps for another mt?

Get some MTs...I just don't see the 06 XXX being that practical. Put the MT(s) in a good size box tuned in the Mid 30s. They will be very loud, and SQ loss wont be that bad. I've heard a few setups with MTs and the SQ isnt all that bad.
I am so glad some one else realized that a sub that needs 3500rms to move isnt a good thing, especially not daily driving. Any sub that needs that much power in order perform at it's top potential is thinking more so in the direction of a jackhammer than an improved xxx.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

MT would be potentially much louder over 40hz but isnt any where near a SQ sub but compare to average sub, it's not that bad, and it's efficiency is much better, but it also is not dependable. They blow easy one way or the other.

Not enough power...... they blow.

Too much power..... they blow.

So, basically, you have to choose between practicallity and efficiency if you pick either of the two. Excuse my negative tone, RE has just disappointed me heavily lately...

ok well i think you talked me into the 12 or 15" mt even though there is a new xxx on ebay. I hope it works out good. The price didnt really effect what i got i just want it loud as shit and sound really good. I will make sure to let you know how it sounds after i get it. I will post a vid to. I really hope im making the right choice!

i had 2 XXX 18"s in 15 cubes total before tunned to 27hz. in a CRX style box. it was deep and loud(so I thought) 4k total watts

I switched to 4 MT 18, in 23 cubes total, tunned to 35 in a wall. when I switch 2 of the subs off it is much louder. with all 4 subs and 10k watts it is the most pressure I have ever felt. it feels like being under water

Whats wrong with the 2 xxx 12's you already have? That sounds like a hard-a$$ setup right there. With a good box that would have niiiiiice sq and get pretty damm loud. Also, where he h3ll do you get the 06 xxx's?

Would you care to explain how you blow a sub with not enough power?
