MT>Wall socket!

No sir. I was hinting more to the fact that rises in impedance by the general impedance curve of the driver and also imedance increases caused by heat will GREATLY low the amount of power supplied by a 110v wall socket.
It would not be uncommon to see a driver receive far less than 1,000 watts from a 110v socket.

Ask me how I know. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :p

So now we have shifted to power compression issues???

Look let me just make my point simple. 2000 watts RMS will kill any voice coil driver with enough time.

Happy?

Secondly, In this particular application, there would be no "impedance curve". 60hz is a wall socket, there is no curve, and there is no impedance. Impedance is a 2D measurement of frequency vs. resistance. A wall sock has a one dimensional frequency of 60hz, therefore you can only talk about resistance.

I must be behind in the times, to me that doesn't mean a **** thing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif Lemme guess, another childish rivalry between companies? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

a wall socket is direct current?

otherwise.. we are talking about impedence.. lol

while they are formulated the same.. resistance is always used in DC situations, and impedence is used in AC situations..

and the impedence curve is certainly graphable.. as load shifts upwards due to heat...

while input signal doesn't change.. time does..

This is certainly not a childish rivalry of any sort. This is a discussion board isn't it? Would you rather not know anything beyond "My 12" Pyle DVC PWNZ ALL OF JOO?"

Remotia's response was "It doest matter because he was making out his breakers.

20 amps X 110 volts = 2200 watts....

big deal for a burp

:\

Remove the breaker and you will destroy any speaker."

This certainly IS NOT the case. The is no way to argue that even a driver wired to an unlimited amount of amount of 110v AC current potential will be "destroyed". Impedance will determine the amount of AC current seen by the driver. This is not a standard, constant number. Impedance will be affected by the driver and by heat after time.

Anyway... who cares. I'd rather quit now than to have a childish argument. If you would rather not have any sort of discussion or debate with myself just because I work for a different company than you do, fine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif No harm was intended.

Honestly, your conversation is too great for my puny mind, and therefore this thread has become too much for me with your impedance curves and wall socket jargon... why dont we just build a huge box for this sub... and mic it while it dies. I would aslo liek to see how long it lasts in a 1 cube sealed enclosure. That would be wicked.

LOLLERFARTS.. jk its actually really interesting...

and btw.. build the ultimate deathbox!

One time I hooked an HC15 to a wall socket in a 2ft sealed box. I let it upfire in the living room floor. It bounced the box off the ground!

I then proceeded to install it into my car temporarily, where it took my rear view mirror off for the first time ever! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Just so ya know, Raven was the one who made the childish argument statement, not Remotia. I think Remotia is cool with the conversation.

Just wanted to clear that up, because it looked like you thought Remotia was the one who thought it was a rivalry/childish argument. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well years ago..me and my old friend built a wall in a escalade with 8 jbl gti15's in a isobaric ported box tuned to 24hz and we wall socket 4 of them (be4 we put the other 4 in front to create the push pull situation) and it took it for about 10mins ....it was loud as hell...we had 4awg wire (power and ground)with a 3 prong plug at the end and we went to town
