Sub : RE MT 18" D.7
box: 7.5 cubes at 30 hz
HU output: 4 volts
Source Material: anything between 30 and 40 hz, alot of chopped and screwed which chad told me they boost the freqs like idiots causing a bass boost effect that can cause clipping. Now Ive tried to keep it to normal bass blasting. Ive ran a 30 hz test tone for like a minute at about 3/4 the volume I usually listen to it at, and it still gets hot.
Amp Gain: I set it best i could with a DMM, its less than half though, and bass boost is at 1/4
Amp: Hifonics Bxi2005D
Crossover: kicker 3-way with gain set at about half also
Alt: Stock
Batts: 2 walmart evertstart maxx 900CCA 1000CA
Wire: Kicker 0 guage 2 runs of it
ok, i just recently installed a dual .7 MT into a box and started messing around with it. the sub gets hot after like 3 or 4 mins or normal bumping off off maybe 1700 watts. I have a MM 3000.1 coming on Friday, so im hoping to figure out where something could be wrong. I forgot to mention the sub is wired in series, so its not even sending the amp a 1 ohm load. Amp gets a tint tiny bit hot, may just be from the heat here. it has 3 spiders instead of 4. I do not know if that makes a difference, sub is not making a noise besides anything normal, but the dustcap gets very very warm after a bit of messing around with it. Anyone have any help?
