Mp3 sound quality...Help

I am looking to add a Neo car Jukebox to my Pioneer P1r. I have a Pioneer 50 disc changer hooked to it right now and will replace it with the Neo Jukebox using the IP Bus adapter. My question is, will I notice a loss of sound quality with the Mp3 as compaired to the changer and/or deck cd player? I have the P1r in Pro mode running 2 Orion 275 SX and 1 Orion 2150 SX. 2 Alpine tweeters, 2 Dynaudio 7's, and 1 Soundstream Exact 12". Any comments welcome.

MP3's you ripped yourself or mp3s from a program like kazaa? If you rip them yourself you can't tell the difference after 192k, at least I can't. Kazaa and other peer to peer programs are a lot less reliable. I have a ton of 192k songs that sound like crap. You will notice a difference between cds and about 95% of the songs you download no matter what the bit rate.

If you're asking about the sound quality from using an mp3 player over a disc player, it shouldn't really make a huge difference unless you're using a fm modulator or something crazy. If you're just plugging the mp3 player into the aux in you should be fine.

Definitely plug it into an aux port on you reciever. get a program like itunes or something reliable to use to rip stuff. try to rip at about 160kbs or more and you wont notice the difference between that or a cd

Thanks for the info. I will be ripping my current collection onto a hard drive so they all will be at my fingertips instead of 50 at a time. When downloading songs was free I tried a few and many times the quality was just horrible.

i just make sure i download 192k or 256k quality songs and most all of them sound great. downloading isn't free anymore? hmm
Heck, it's been awhile since I used any of those services but I have seen a few shut down so I assumed many went to a fee charged for use of their download service. What is a good free site to use?
