mp3 player Into sony head unit compatibility

well i just have a question.... i'll be getting a Creative Zen Micro as a graduation present, and i was going to use Belkins TuneCast II Mobile FM Transmitter to get the tunes from the mp3 player to the headunit... would be the easiest way to do things.... but i know i wouldnt get sound quality like a CD would produce... so i took the head unit out and saw the type of connections it has for input and i was wondering if i could use a mini stereo to rca cable to connect the 2 together so that i can have tons of songs, and good quality sound too without having to buy a whole new headunit

my current headunit is a Sony CDX-M800

so in short can i use the headphone jack on the mp3 player to plug into the rca jacks on the back of the head unit although they say it's used for BUS or somethin like that (for a cd changer if i installed one)

i e-mailed a sony tech before awhile ago about this and they said i would have to order something from them to get it to work.... i thought it was bs and just another way for them to get money... so i never did

still plan on getting the fm transmitter for everywhere else... i just want to get even better sound quality while i'm in my truck

your trying to connect a portable mp3 player to your headunit, Right?

yeah you can connect the 2 together. but if your hu has build in AUX inputs. are the inputs you saw AUX inputs?

the 2004-2005 sony xplod headunits alreally came with build in AUX inputs, but same of the older models don't came with build in AUX inputs. you might need to buy a Adaptor CHICK HERE and a Stereo Mini-to-RCA AdapterCHICK HERE

the back of the head unit has rca inputs.... aux inputs, here is a pic GO to this page.... about halfway down is a picture of the back

i plan on getting the 2nd generation belkin modulator.... but i wanted a better way to put music through my truck... that's why i'm opting to go this route //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif it looks like everything will work... just wanted to make sure

Answer is "yes" you can plug your Creative Zen into the aux in RCA jacks. Matter of fact, I have a Sony CDX-F7715X and plug both my Rio Karma and my son's Creative Zen into it. I ran the RCA cable from the aux inputs, down through the dash, under the carpet, and it reappears in my center console so the cord's hidden. Works great and you're right not quite CD-quality but much better than you'll get from a wireless transmitter. I also used the Belkin II and it doesn't come close to wired.

just connect the stereo Mini-to-RCA Adapter to the aux inputs on your hu and to the headphone jack on the Creative Zen Micro mp3 player. this way you will get better sound quality then connecting a FM Transmitter.

thanks for the help ya'll.... i just wanted to make sure this would work before i got my hopes up of having something better than a radio broadcast.... just gotta figure out where i'm gonna have this thing sit now... lol cause well i have a huge friggen box between my seats where my center console used to be.... o well... i'll get it figured out
