Moving on up (maybe)

So I just got my 2 12" Type Rs installed, and they do sound nice and hit pretty hard, but I want louder. There was a guy with 2 CVR 10s SEALED that sounded as loud if not louder than me with mine PORTED feeding them 1000 rms a piece. I'm sure the vehicle had something to do with that but I want it louder regardless. I'm gonna try them in a different box at first, if that doesn't help I'm gonna get a new sub(s). I'm not that worried about SQ, as long as it doesnt sound like total a$$. I want to be able to do a decent hair trick as well. This is going in a Silverado extended cab.

If I pull the back seats out, I can get about 11-12 cubes gross out of it. It'd be nice to leave the seats in like I have them now, though. I can get 6.6 cubes gross on the seat. I'm not walling it off.

I have a Herc powering whatever I get, my truck holds steady at 14+ so I'm sure it's putting out a little over 2k RMS. I DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO BUY A NEW OR ANOTHER AMP.

A few ideas I had:

-buy 2 more 12" Rs and run all 4 off the herc at .5 ohm.

-2 nice 15s

-1 kickass 18

Whatever it is, I want it to be different. EVERYONE here is on a major L7 boner and I want to shut them up big time. I want it from a proven company, TC, RE, SS, etc etc.

Got any ideas?

i dunno 4 type rs would get pretty **** loud.... but if you had the money i would get 2 18" fi btls.

would need a new amp though...

nah....no 2 18s...kinda out of my budget. And i can't afford a new amp yet.

What about 1 18" BTL on 2k rms?

I know about the L7 crap...Thats why I use DD's...The look on someones face when 4 DD1008's blows away two Kicker L7 15's....Priceless...lol

Nice....is that your Tacoma in the avatar? My dad's got an 05, I almost got it but insurance was high as hell for me. Any pics of your setup?

32 hz....it gets pretty loud around 35 hz frequencies in music. It's a pretty big box for them though, 2.75 cubes a piece. I'm gonna try and get metered, then build something like 4 cubes @ 35 hz and get metered again and see how it does.

Yeah thats my Tacoma...I haven't put any subs in it yet...I yanked the factory JBL junk out though...I have a Pioneer Z1 deck in it...I'm hoping to fit two DD 1008's behind the rear seat...If not I'll have to settle on a couple of Pioneer shallow mount subs..
