Movie Theater Audio Setups?

Did a search for this and got nothing.

Does anybody know what kind of audio setups are run in AMC's, Regal's, Cinemark's etc..... I'd imagine they'd be kind of "standard", being that they have thousands of screens all over the country. I'd be curious as to how many watts they are running and what kind of amplification.

I've been in a few movie theater's that have been nearly unbearable to listen to (loud + shitty equipment = bloody ears), but the local movie theatre on FSU's campus has an excellent low end authority while sounding great throughout the rest of the frequency range.

It depends on the theater. I know a few use custom boxes designed specifically for theaters. But, the good majority that I've seen use JBL (Harmon Pro Cinema) or EAW boxes.
