Mounting x-overs

Hey guys,

where is the best place to mount your cross-overs for your comps? I would think in the trunk, a place that will be easy to access. But one shop here in NJ always puts them in the doors. Would this be ok to do or should you have easy access to them to adjust them?

when i put mine in the little pockets in the doors, i couldnt get to it and that was annoying. theyre in the trunk now and i can adjust em whenever i need to with no problem. its fine if u put em in the doors, just get the tweeter setting on it correct and leave it. if u plan on adjusting it a lot, then i recommend u put it somewhere more accessible. trunk mounting = twice the wiring tho.

Yup, that's the main downfall of trunk mounting.

Mounting them on/in the door isn't the best location, IMO. There are tons of places to mount them though...up under the dash, hidden in the kickpanels, in the center console (if you have one), etc etc. Basically, anywhere they will fit.

Problem with the doors is that they are obviously opened and closed often //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif One of my type-x x-overs pretty much broke apart, water also is a bad thing. The extra wire to the trunk is definitely worth it.

mine are in the doors....i like'm close to the drivers

There are places in the door frame where they could fare well

its not even like wire costs that much so that shouldnt really be the determining factor. durability and accessibility is what u should base ur choice on.
