Mounting location - how hot do amps get?

I have a old (I think) MTX 4002 amp that is 400 watts RMS bridged. I was thinking off installing it in the under tray of the trunk an cut the insert to size.

Is this a terribly bad idea or it's fine?

the amps ideally would want to be faced up to allow the heat to radiate off. This aprticular model doesnt have much in the ways of making the most of its surface area into a heatsink, so shrouding it is going to make that problem worse. A cheap computer fan blowing over it should help immensely tho. You would just need a relay to turn the fan on, and a small fuse to govern the power going to it
