Mounting depth for a Subaru Legacy

Would anyone know the max speaker mounting depth, with what size spacers, that could be used without any door panel modification in a 2000 Subaru Legacy B4? Front and rear size if available, though they look about the same.

Can't seem to find much on the internet, but from what I have seen I might be able to get away with 2-1/4", with some spacers. Might have to try out those new JBL's, probably the best that will fit in there.

For any interested, the absolute max I would go with is about 2.5", with .75-1" of spacer.
