has anyone ever done this?
how do i go about it? i am thinking 1/4" MDF as a mounting board then screwing amps to the mounting board, then carpet over the board
also, how do you run the wires to it? would running all the wires through one rubber tube work? it would only be 2 runs of 4g (power and ground to sub amp) 2 runs of 8g (p&g for mids and highs) then of course jsut 16 g speakerwire and remote wires
my other concern is the amps having trouble cooling, i've heard that amps have a cooling issue if mounted upside down, and they of course would be upside down when the trunk was closed.
and one last concern being that the trunk lid would be to heavy to open by itself, well, at least stay open by itself, amps would not be very big, for now im thinking of an orion 1200d, and matching 2 channel orion amp
im not really sure yet if i wanna do this, but im out of ideas for amp racks, and i want to have a nice looking setup for once.
thanks alot for any input.
