Mounting amplifier's to boxes

I've heard the arguement go either way.. so is it bad to mount an amplifier (and distribution block) to a subwoofer box? Mine will be braced and the back will be 1" and was wondering if that might make a difference in the answer?

I wouldnt, but if you must, use rubber washers.

no its just fine, if vibrations hurt amps it wouldnt matter where they were mounted they would always break. and yes use rubber washers.

my understanding of the situation is.........as long as your box is properly braced, you should be fine.

upside down amps = bad though?

just do not mount it upside down as the heat sink would become worthless and the amp would burn itself up.

there are a lot more vibrations on the box than in the trunk. but i have never seen an amp break because it's on the box. i just think it's a bad idea cuz it looks ugly (in most cases), and it gives the guy stealing your setup a nice package to take out quickly. all he needs are wire cutters.

wut yall think of putting some dynamat under the amplifier?

im was about to mount them with nothin under)no rubber washer..)...just saw this thread and have a second thought...

although ive added a mdf3/4 size of the amp and screwed it to the box and then ill put the amp.. does this help ?

I have heard thats its bad for the amp also. But I have had amps mounted on several of my boxes. Three amps on my last box. And I have never head one problem. Now my amps are mounted on the floor

I think Mmats chose to include that notice just to ensure themselves....gueesing alot of complaints have been filed on this with them and decided to start telling the customers that this is a bad thing...which isnt not the best place for an amp but a amp that is secured right wont have a problem., unless the components are loose.

Ive seen an amp broken because it was mounted on a flexing box
