Hey guys I made a mdf sqaure cutout so I can mount my rainbows to them and cut down on vibration. I am going to be using either screws or bolts in each corner.

And that is exactly my question, Should I just use screws and go through the mdf and the metal of the inside of the door, or drill holes and use bolts and nuts to tighten the ring/square to the door.

Also will silicon be a good idea to put around the rainbow speakers. I am completely going to seal the door inside/out with 2nd Skin with covering the holes with sheetmetal. Thanks again!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Either should work fine. Self tapping screws are easiest.

For sealing, rope caulk or gasketing material would allow the speaker to be more easily removed later on.

would the sealer go around the actual speaker , or would i apply it to the part where the metal mounts aganist the mdf?

if you can use bolts they are better than screws because you don't have to worry about stripping the hole out. Or just use T-Nuts and stick those in the holes...don't have to worry about stripping the holes and you don't have to try and tighten a nut from behind the speaker...

Well, this is what I have now, non hardening clay with butterfly bolts and washers.
