motorcycle question

your an idiot... r6 has a little top end over a cbr, a cbr will eat an r6 in acceleration. Plus for a first bike i really don't suggest anything more than a 600 but do what you will. Either way your probably gonna wreck it. Its almost un-avoidable nowadays. Especially since your just deciding to buy a street bike and start riding.
And further more, who cares about exceleration. The guy obviously is not going to be hitting the track any day soon. Both will rip your arms off.

I'd care more about acceleration, but thats just me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

go sit on some bikes at the dealer, done be afraid to sit on everything you see, thats what they are there for.

the CBR600RR will be the fastest 600 that you can get, it's also the smallest.

If you REALLY think you will get into riding and stay into riding, i'd jump for a 1000+

the R1 is a very nice bike as well as the GSX-R1000, then you get into ZX-10's, ZX-11's and even Busa's and ZX-14's.

yea you'll get people saying you don't need a 1000 for your first bike, but unless, you buy used, the second your new bike rolls off the floor it depreciates by a few hundred at least.

sounds good...yeah im pretty big i think 6'3"...200 something pounds so maybe ill just go try some out..the only thing is if im buying used and im trying to stay local i wont really have a choice if the right deal comes along

I have been looking into getting a bike as well.

I was one of those ones though that started off on too much of a bike. Honda Hurricane 1100.

Of course I only hit a huge *** pot hole doing 40, thank god.

I also don't want a sport bike anymore, but seems what you are going for.

Good luck and stay safe.

1) dont get a 1000 (pointless on the street) only posers ride 1000's

2) the Ninja 650R is only a 2cyl bike NOT an I4

3) CBR will be the most comfortable on the street. (best ergos)

4) R6 does not own all...the Daytona 675 owns ALL...put im sure who ever thinks that the R6 owns all is just a stupid newb that rides a tricycle.

5) the BEST bang for you buck bike is the SV650.

6) what other bikes have you ridden and how many times??

and remember theres 2 types of riders...Ones that have fallen and ones that will fall.

Good luck. if you want more details you can PM me....

if i were you i would HIGHLY consider a triumph StreetTriple or daytona 675.

ZX-6r is a nice bike too.

*oh and BTW if you buy a RR bike ecpect to pay 2-3grand a year in insurance alone.

Well who ever buys a sport bike and doesn't care about acceleration i would have to call a complete fucking retard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

welcome back stunta

I like my little buell but there is nothing like riding a big cruiser with tons of torque down low. To each their own though I like both bikes, except when I have to wash both like today, got a poker run tomorrow and my buddy is borrowin the buell so I had to wash both:

Crappy pic that does no justice but its hard to beat black and chrome when its clean:

CBR and R6 are pretty much similar, except the CBR has faster acceleration, my friend has a 96 CBR with yoshi exhaust and that thing flys, he was doing 185 on the highway.
The 650r has more of sitting up position. Basically, R6 and CBR are supersport, 650r is sport. If you want a kawi supersport, the ZX-6R is the way to go.
185 on a stock cbr? idk man...was he going downhill also
